SPU THEATRE produces fringe-style treatment of ROMEO AND JULIET. Set everywhere in the present day, r+j showcases the work of SPU student actors and dramaturgs, under the Direction of Head of Performance Candace Vance and Faculty Dramaturg Dr. Shelby Lunderman.  Scrappy and innovative, this ensemble doesn’t shy away from the challenges of producing theatre on a shoe-string budget.  Nor does it shy away from the political statement embedded in Shakespeare’s text.  What does it mean when children become the casualties of war?
